Parker School hosted a free Drive Thru Trunk or Treat on Halloween evening for the Waimea community.
“We wanted to support the Waimea community by offering a fun, free, and COVID-safe event to celebrate Halloween,” said Stephen Dunn, head of school at Parker.
The trunks of seven cars and trucks were decorated in different themes and the trunk’s host handed out candy to keiki and families who drove through the school’s main parking lot. Trunk hosts included W. M. Keck Observatory, Roberts Hawaii, Smarthomes.us, the Chun and Klett ‘Ohana’s, Darius Monself (Batman and Parker alum from the Class of 1999), and Parker School. Additional event sponsors included Hawaii Diaper Bank and Lex Brodie’s Waimea.
During the three-hour event, Parker School said over 320 cars came through carrying more than 420 trick-or-treaters.
“It was a beautiful Waimea evening filled with costumes, smiling eyes (above face masks), and lots of joy,” Dunn said.
